How does the Library, Museums and Press support open access?

While we support open access publishing, "transformative agreements" from publishers like American Chemical Society charge universities premium fees ($5,000-$100,000+ annually) on top of subscriptions to enable open-access publishing. The Library, Museums and Press enters these agreements when costs are manageable, but many major publishers' fees exceed our budget constraints.

The Library, Museums and Press support four areas of open access: publishing, content, infrastructure (e.g. UDSpace) and memberships. Learn more about our publisher agreements and other investments:
