Can the grant funds be used to purchase materials for my course, or for the Library to use to purchase materials for my course?

The grants are one-time incentives and are not structured to support the acquisition of course materials.

Answer

Open and Affordable Teaching Materials Grants are one-time incentive grants for faculty, and are not structured to allow for ongoing licensing of library materials. Depending upon the project and the needs of the discipline, in some cases project discussions between faculty and subject liaison librarians have led to the purchase of materials for the collection. This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, outside of the expectations or structure of the grant program.
