Can I access the streaming media service Kanopy through the Library?

Answer

Kanopy is one of a number of academic streaming media services which the Library, Museums and Press works with to provide access to video content for registered University of Delaware students and instructors. You can learn more about these databases via the Media Research Guide

Please note that only a small portion of the Library's streaming video is available via Kanopy -- if you find that a film is not available to you via the Kanopy interface, you may find that it is available via another database by searching DELCAT. If you have a specific title in mind, feel free to search the catalog limited to the Film & Video Collection, and you will see the words 'Available Online' in the item's record if a video is available to the University of Delaware community via streaming.

If you are an instructor and you would like to request that a title be licensed for online viewing in support of a course, please reach out to the Film & Video Collection librarian to explore options.  Licensing requests can sometimes take a month or more to activate, so please allow as much time as possible for your request.  Many titles are not available for educational streaming licensing, but we are happy to investigate.
